Also called Durif in France, Petite Sirah is actually a cross between Syrah and Peloursin. Characteristics include: Dark fruit, richness, dark color, chewiness & power. The grape does well in a number of areas in of California & enjoys cult status when made correctly. El Dorado is a sub-appellation of the Sierra Foothills in Northern California. Grapes here are cooled by elevation rather than fog giving the vines more direct sunlight & hang time delivering lush, fruit driven wines. It is known for rich warm weather Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Barbera and over 50 other varietals that can be found in this unique mountain AVA.

Black as a pirate’s flag this wine is ultra rich with notes of espresso, wild berry, ground pepper & minerality on the nose. Saturating the palate with layer after layer of blackberry the fruit is powerful and concentrated.
